I find myself asking "Why?" so often that I think it might be the only sound I can make. Sometimes it's preceded by "I don't understand" when I'm making a statement.
For example:
- "Why can't the people who are scheduled to work, come to work?"
- "I don't understand why someone keeps bringing Mrs. A potato chips when she's diabetic."
- "Why don't they let a CNA attend the care plan meetings?"
- "I don't understand why the doctor won't prescribe better pain medication for this resident."
Today is my "hump day". After this, it's all downhill until my "weekend". I think I may make brownies to bring to work on my "Friday". Chocolate doesn't cure anything, but it sure tastes good.

You may want to share your ideas (instead of frustrations!) with your administrator, or DON. Our administrator likes to open door policy, and he is fond of CNAs.
CNAs are supposed to be included in care plan meetings. You may let your social worker know that you would be glad to attend some of the care plan meetings.

Brownies, cookies, pies... I am willing to bring anything that can make staff happy. When they are happy, they are nicer to the residents. That, to me, is the most important.
CNAs are instrumental in care plan development. I can't believe they don't let you participate!
I guess I should make a clarification here. I work second shift. It is possible that they are doing all the care plan meetings during first shift so that I'm unaware of who's attending those meetings.
That said, I have never talked to a CNA from first shift who says they have attended a care plan meeting. If I had attended one, I'd be talking about it. In fact, I'd probably be soliciting information from first and third shift before the meeting, if I could, so all our jobs would be easier.
