Wanna be a hero?

Learn how to program a television remote.

I'm not kidding.  I have ladies who wait for me to come to work to fix their remotes when they stop working.  You'd think I was Wonder Woman.

One gentleman waited anxiously for my arrival on the weeks when he'd dropped his answering machine and needed the time and date reset. He was so relieved and amazed when I'd fix it in less than a minute. Being a hero in a nursing home is often as easy as moving a tray table within reach.

Indeed. If it's impossible for them, everything we do seems superhuman.

Thanks for dropping by.

Sadly for me, I failed to be the wonder woman because I couldn't program the TV for a resident one time. So, I asked for help from a coworker whom several residents were afraid of. That coworker was in a very good mood that day and was extremely helpful. The good thing about the whole thing was that we're able to joke about our "helplessness" and the importance of seeking help...
