It wasn't even a couple months.

Heck, it hasn't even been a month since I posted this http://ktreecna.blogspot.com/2009/03/when-overwhelmed-pick-tree.html
and talked about how I might be getting to know a new DON. Ours walked last night although it's unclear whether she went of her own volition or not.

In any event, the changes continue. Every day is a new adventure. At least I'm never bored.

Aaah, the drama never ends. It's good not being bored.

This is common in my experiences. A DON lasts about a year and a half, up my way. And when they leave, it causes staff anxiety and concern. Administrators also tend to come and go like the seasons, too.
LTC is a high turnover profession.

I've been at the facility for nearly 14 months. In that time, we've had 3 DON's (one quit between the time I got hired and the time I actually came to work) and 3 administrators.

We are currently DON-less and rumors are spreading already about the new Administrator throwing up her hands and leaving.

I wonder, sometimes, if this situation is more common in "for profit" nursing homes. I've never worked anywhere else, so I have no point of comparison.

Holy CRAP! That's worse than what I've seen...Good Grief. Just when you all get used to one, they leave and you gotta get to know a NEW one.

I'd hate that.
